If what you are saying is correct why do 4 1.5 inch tubes on a typical 8cly header terminate into a 3 or 3.5 inch collector. If exhaust pulses follow each other but don't add up like you say, we would have a collector that was around 1.5 inches. I think you need to revisit your theory again. Collector size and design is CRITICAL in how a header/manifold flows overall. Thats why testing the collector would provide valuable data. Individual runner flow is no good unless you match it with a equally well flowing collector
